French electronic producer and beat-extraordinaire Evil Needle has shared his most compelling and most production-flourished work to date - a brand new EP titled Igida, which was released on Friday, November 30th via HW&W Recordings, who have in the past worked with notable artists including Kaytranada, STWO, FWDSLXSH and more. A follow up to Evil Needle's 2017 LP, Abyssal, which a fantastic, eclectic cast of artists and musicians; Mo Vibes, Naji, Noah, and Aleisha Lee all brought on their own unique and complimentary addition to Needle's infectious signature sound.

As an official member of the elegantly infamous Soulection crew, Evil Needle's captivatingly produced material has caught the eyes, ears and attention of prolific tastemakers Dancing Astronaut, Complex, Nest HQ, Magnetic Mag, Earmilk and many, many more since his explosive introduction to the local scene, and now gaining worldwide recognition.

Among many other musical endeavours, Evil Needle has also gained popularity and media interest holding credit for collaborating with an array of artists from JMSN to Mr. Carmack, and TroyBoi to Sivey, and so on. Needle has is the past handled numerous remixes for Midas Hutch and many other similarly like minded artists, earning this talented producer a highly impressive 7 million plays just on SoundCloud and Youtube alone. Additionally, Evil Needle has also handled production duties for LA rapper Doja Cat's single ‘So High’, receiving a staggering 12 Million Youtube views to date.

The latest foray, Igida EP is an expansive journey into the psyche-fortress of Evil Needle, and it is an extremely effective presentation at that; spanning across six wonderfully immersive tracks, the opener "Angst" erupts with a cinematic gesture, where darkening piano lines float amidst heavily absorbent bass and echoic percussion sparks, inducing processed vocal samples to fill up angelic atmospheres. Half way, "Fathom" drives melody and precision evoking trap or textural instrumental hip-hop inspired leanings - reminding one that all is indeed, not lost. Another engaging moment of clarity, "Scars" shimmers celestial drones but soon evolves into an epic dance-fuelled flurry including wonderfully solid production values, crushingly addictive beats and deep, darkened Wave-infused basslines, positively progressing this already awe-inspiring listening pleasure into the mammoth it most certainly is and will remain.
